Hail Pixar's Reign over Animation Movies!!!

The World Cup matches so far have been awesome!!! My particular favourite is the Germany vs Costa Rica match which was the opening match as well. Excellent goals! Awesome performance by the host nation themselves! They deserve to win. England was quite a major letdown and so was Argentina. Tonight's match is Australia vs Japan. Kinda rooting for the country that I stayed in during my Uni period...but on the other hand, definitely rooting for my Asian roots and hoping they would go far! Nevertheless, I'm sure its gonna be an exciting match!

During the weekend, had the opportunity to catch Pixar's latest offering, Cars. I gotta say...so far, out of the movies I've seen in my 'Must-See' list...Cars is the best and most enjoyable one. Simple storyline, awesome animation and excellent voice-over! The animation was really superb, breathtaking and realistic. Goes to show you how far Pixar has come since Toy Story. Pixar's storyline has always been simple and carries life lessons we all need to learn. Yet, they manage to do what many other similiar animators fail to do; that is to interwove a simple storyline combined with groundbreaking graphics and believable non-human acting objects. Traditionally, Pixar movies have very few famous faces to voice their characters. However, this time around, Cars have quite a few famous people round the block, Owen Wilson, Paul Newman, Bonnie Hunt and a cameo from Michael Schumacher. Still, their presence does not detract the movie altogether and they manage to hold their own even as cars. If I had to choose between Nemo, Incredibles & Cars...my fav would still be Nemo. A definite-must watch movie!!! On a similiar note, don't forget to checkout the short movie that plays before a Pixar movie begins called One Man Band. My fav one so far among all the rest!
