Lord,

I really need your wisdom in the next few months as some decisions have to be made. I don't want to just follow coincidences, signs and what my mind tells me. I am extremely thankful to be given freedom of choice. Ultimately, I want to be put in a place where I can be a light, where my potential can be carve and molded. Once again, I ask for your wisdom and guidance. Amen.

P/S: At least my wisdom tooth has not been extracted, so I do still have some ounce of wisdom.

One Republic is officially one of my fav bands, and to lookout for. Ryan Tedder, the lead singer is definitely one of the people to watch out for 2008. He has already written some of the biggest hits we have seen the last few months (Apologize, Bleeding Love). And it seems now he is working on Kelly Clarkson's fourth album (after the flop, My December...she definitely needs his 'Midas' touch). Checkout his band's awesome rendition of 'Mercy', originally by Duffy.

Lately, there's alot of old-school, 50's throwback of soul and R&B sound going on thanks to the likes of Amy Winehouse, Duffy and now Estelle. And surprisingly, all hail from the Brit. Even with the emergence of more indie, non-R&B stuff from Sara Bareilles, Yael Naim & Colbie Calliat. Must say, it is a breath of fresh air among the pools of Disney Stars, Hannah Montana's/Miley Cyrus & R&B/Hip-hop/Rap stuff playin on the radio.

Been listening to India.Arie's exquisite rendition of an old Don Henley song. First heard the song in the SATC: The Movie trailer, and immediately got hooked onto it. Such a poignant song with heartfelt lyrics that talks about a relationship gone wrong, and one of the them moving on and the time for healing and forgiveness has to happened. It is an absolutely beautiful and moving song.

Came into my thoughts the other day, one of the jobs I would really like to have is a record company executive or perhaps being able to start up my own record label. I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of MK Records....? Music is definitely one of my passions in life and listening to up and coming artists is something that excites me. I would really like to discover the next Alicia Keys, John Mayer or even Britney Spears (well, just to make some $$$$ first). Would definitely be something cool as well as giving some non-mainstream artist a musical platform.

On a separate note, 3 of my friends announced their engagement yesterday. So, that officially brings my wedding invitation tally to 11 (I think?). Is there something in the year 2008 or am I missing out the sudden surge in marital bliss? Anyways, really excited and happy for all my friends who are heading down this big step. You could probably give me some wise words of wisdom after a year.

Change....Part 2

The word 'Change' has been thrown around alot lately, mainly in the political arena. This has actually given me a nudge to not only make a change, but to try out new things. It is time for me to step out of my comfort zone, and head for something new, something fresh and something exciting. The next couple of months will be an interesting one, whether for the good or for the bad. I think one statement best summarizes it, as spoken by Andy Warhol, "They say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself".

On the recent American Idol episode, Jason Castro performed 'Hallelujah', a song by Leonard Cohen but made popular by Jeff Buckley. No doubt, it can't be compared to the Buckley version, but he did a commendable job and actually revive major interest in the song. The reigning power of American Idol (and some said that it was slowing down). As I write this, the song is no.1 on the US iTunes Store. Not bad for a 13-year old non-mainstream song, beating the likes of Usher, Jordin Sparks and the current hot songs. The video below is Jason Castro's take on 'Hallelujah'.

Forgetful-Me

Was all psyched out about going to the gym after quite some time due to work commitments...and realize I forgot my gym shoes. Hmmmm....was too lazy to go home and come back to the gym again.

So, decided to permanently leave my gym shoes in the car. Save me the hassle of forgetting it. And....I need a new pair of gym shoes too. On to the GYM today!!!

The Wedding Season has officially begun this week....think it's the 'Wedding Year'. Got almost close to 10 invitations already. On the other hand, this past 2 weeks has been extremely hectic, and it looks like it's not gonna stop. Lots to look forward too I guess...

American Idol Season 7 has started already...this season I gotta agree is much better than last season although it still can't compete with my favourite season, season 4 (whereby Carrie Underwood was crowned and still the reigning American Idol, in my opinion). No more potential SANJAYA's, except maybe Danny Noriega...hopefully he doesn't make the top 12. Some of my favourites include David Archuleta, Michael Johns, Jason Castro, Carly Smithson & Brooke White. The males seem stronger this season in my opinion, somehow I'm sensing a 2 male showdown with David Archuleta vs Another male contestant. That kid is one heck of a singer and got great appeal for the 'tween' market. All that and he's only 17 years old!

Malaysia's Election is this coming Sat! Gonna be an interesting one...although the American presidential race seems more exciting. Echoing Barack Obama's famous line "It's time for a CHANGE!!!".

A Mighty Heart Pt 2

I did it...I manage to finish the book and movie last week. Overall, I felt that the book was much better. Of course it's difficult to fit in condense all the book details into a 2-hour movie. The movie was more of a look at Marianne Pearl, her struggles and the investigation process. I believe it was a vehicle for Angelina Jolie to grab another Oscar nomination (which unfortunately, she didn't) and to show people that besides being a supermom, she can actually act.

I was really inspired by the book, mainly the lives of Daniel & Marianne Pearl. How two people from very different backgrounds, came together in a union and vow to be the voices for those who couldn't speak. They were the voices for the oppressed, the injustice, and the misunderstood. They were journalists who were so dedicated to their craft, to reporting the truth and not withhold anything. Willing to give up their comfort zone in order to understand the lives of what they were writing on.

The book begins from their journey in Karachi, when Marianne was three months (?) pregnant, the events of Sept 11th were not too long ago and tensions were building up between nations. I won't revel more details as the book is one that you can't put down once you begin. Compared to the movie, the book gives a more vivid look on Daniel Pearl. Who this person is, what his beliefs are, what this man encompassed. The movie seriously lacked that. It's quite an emotionally draining book cause for me, I knew what happened to him already. The book can get at times confusing with all the names of suspects being thrown back and forth, the details of the investigation process.

It also shows how people from different nationalities, backgrounds, cultures, and religions came together to find one man. Both the book and the movie really did captured that. I dedicate this post to Daniel Pearl, may your legacy live on through the writings of Marianne Pearl and the life of your son, Adam.

A mighty heart

Usually, when I read a book, it takes me rather long to finish it (as many of my friends can attest to that). However, I decided to checkout this book called A Mighty Heart. It was written by Marianne Pearl and details the ordeal she went through in Karachi after finding out her husband, Daniel Pearl was kidnapped by terrorists. The book has also been made into a movie starring Angelina Jolie as Marianne Pearl. Eventhough I'm not a big fan of Angelina's screen credits, I heard she pulls an Oscar-worthy performance.

Eventhough I only touched the first 15 pages of the book, I am hooked, sucked in. It's one of those books that...once you start, you must finish it. I was so tempted to finish the book but the weekend gatherings took precedence. So, I have promised myself to finish reading this book by the end of this week. and give it a short review. Oh, that also includes watching the movie.

Recently, been listening to the country stylings of Taylor Swift. For a 17-year old, she is one heck of a talent. Checkout her sad, soppy tale of "Teardrops on my Guitar".

Acoustic, Live and Stripped

Now that Hollywood TV and Awards Season is practically shutdown thanks to the ongoing writer's strike! (Cmon, you know that you need them writers), I'm missing out on the fictional lives of the Wisteria Lane folks, Seattle Grace doctors, the Heroesssss and MODE employees! Hurry up and settle the issue...feeling the withdrawal symptoms already. Hahahaha....

On another note, I love it when artists take one of their tracks and give it a stripped down performance. Makes it intimate, personal, emotional and really brings out the vocal strength of an artist. I've always been a big fan of my favorite songs given the acoustic treatment and you have only two instruments most of the time; voice and a supporting instrument. The track literally comes alive with the atmosphere setting in. My first experience of an acoustic performance was Strong Enough by Sheryl Crow, during one of the MTV Unplugged sessions. It was the first time I saw her playing the accordion in that performance. Unfortunately, can't find a clear version of the video on Youtube. So, here is another performance of Strong Enough, given the stripped and acoustic treatment.

Sessions@AOL is a special musical avenue for artists to usually perform in a more intimate and exclusive format. The tracks are usually sung acoustically or stripped down. Many artists have appeared on Sessions@AOL including Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, KT Tunstall, Maroon 5 and lots more. Plenty of the sessions are available at YouTube. I'll just give a preview of two songs which I feel was sung amazingly at the sessions. Enjoy!!!

A new chapter of 2008 begins....

Looking back at 2007, many highlights (or in some cases, a lowlight) certainly come to mind.

1) Finally shedding off the extra pounds (10 kg to be exact)
2) Became more active in gym towards achieving that more muscly body
3) Watching Christina Aguilera live and tennis legends, Roger Federer and Pete Sampras battle it out
4) Hong Kong trip with family (plus lots of shopping)
5) Singapore trip beginning of the year (one of the best trips I ever had)
6) Made new friends and gained a new confidante
7) Celebrated a significant two years :)
8) Took on more responsibilities at work
9) Became a year OLDER!
10) Losing my handphone

There's alot more I could probably list down but gonna leave it to this. As a new chapter and another new year unfolds, I know it's going to be a long, bumpy and yet exciting road ahead. So, come on 2008 and bring on the journey!

2007 has been an interesting year for music. We had our reunions (Spice Girls, BSB), the band members turn solo acts (Fergie, will.i.am.), the idols (Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Jordin Sparks,) breakouts (Amy Winehouse, Rihanna), the R&B princes (Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake), girl power (Nelly Furtado, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce), comebacks? (Britney Spears) and of course, the rap heavyweights (Kanye West, 50 Cent). As 2007 comes to a close, here are some of my fav songs of 2007. Enchanted

Finally watch Enchanted during the weekend after watching the first trailer and hearing reviews from friends who say they don't mind watching it a second time. The first time I saw the trailer, it really reminded me of good ol' Disney cartoons that I grew up watching (with the songs, the magic...etc). It started off the typical Disney fashion way, narration (voiced by Julie Andrews) followed by pop-ups of the book. And then, you see the Disney "princess" in her cottage, singing her heart out, looking for true love. Of course, the scene won't be complete with her furry forest friends. Really nostalgic moment (reminded me of Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella).

Amy Adams really comes alive as the doe-eyed, optimistically in-love Giselle. She truly inhabits the role that continues to captivate you even after the credit ends. Enchanted won't be as enchanting if not for her brilliant acting. James Marsden did a commendable job as the vain, self-absorbed Prince Edward whereas Patrick Demspey does what he does best every Thursday Night; McDreamy.

One of the better movies I've seen this year. A feel good family movie that leaves you in a happy, singing mood once you leave the theatre. Great movie, great soundtrack, suited for everyone to watch. Yup, it is the good ol' Disney Movie. One that I won't mind watching again.

Man, can't believe it's December and soon 2007 will come to an end. As I was thinking about my Christmas wish-list the other day, here are some of the stuff I hope to have. (If some kind soul out there who won't mind contributing, you're more than welcome too).

1. Either the iPhone or Nokia N95 8GB

2. New Macbook with Leopard

3. Nikon D40

4. One of the three game consoles (Nintendo Wii, Sony PS3 or Microsoft Xbox 360)

5. HDTV LCD!!! (actually, this ties in with the game console)

6. More clothes and shoes...(in other words, a new wardrobe)

7. Watchin Alicia Keys sing her soul out in-person. Or Carrie Underwood bring that "country" attitude.

7. And last but not least, a nice holiday getaway to the beautiful Santorini Islands of Greece!!!

Gym

Lately, I've been hitting the gym. Quite frequently (going 3 times a week), thanks to Isaiah's generosity in giving me his 2 1/2 month free pass at Celebrity Fitness (really appreciate it dude). It's been a year since I hit the gym (the last time was in Perth). So, it feels good to start hitting the threadmill, lifting weights and going for the classes in my bid to be more healthy and get more muscles (since I'm being bombarded by comments of too much weight loss).

I like the adrenaline, the rush and the push of your body's strengths to the max. Plus, it's a great de-stressing mechanism after a long day at work. Seriously considering joining full-time now. But, will probably decide later on. On another note, Happy Birthday to one of my closest friends ever, Pat. (His birthday was on 24th). So sorry can't be there to celebrate with you. Thanks for all the support and catching-up. You are truly a blessing from God. Have a good one!

Even Britney, the mess that she is...manage to record original material. You are always going to be known as the COVER-BAND! Plus, you don't even do justice to the covers you're doin. So, please stop recording covers and get some new writers and producers!

Heroes Season 2

Heroes Season 2

One of my three new fav shows from last season (after Brothers & Sisters and Ugly Betty) had me amiss after my finale. Too much buildup led to much letdown. The whole Sylar vs Peter showdown ended faster than a Yaataaa shoutout. I keep telling people who have watched Heroes that maybe they didn't have enough budget to keep that going. But cmon, producers (if you are hearing), don't create a HUGGGEEE buzz over a finale and give us, the viewers nothing to talk about (not even a watercooler moment). So, my hopes for the new season were slightly down and lower expectations.

After watching the first four episodes, has Heroes fallen under the typical Hollywood Sophomore slump? Well, I would say yes and no. The thing I'm really looking forward to in the new season is the introduction of new characters and their powers. Plus, there's a new bigger, badder and more powerful villian than Sylar. I do hope also that they tie up some of the loose ends from last season which wasn't explained. Now, the stuff that might make Heroes lose their steam is the how unbelievably all of them are connected. Cmon, I know the world is small but not that small. Some of the connections are seriously ridiculous. And, they need to give new storylines to certain characters like Hiro, Niki/Jessica and Nathan. Can we get more scenes whereby the Heroes actually learn more about their powers. If I had some of their powers, I would like to test things further. The only Hero that have tried to test the limits of their power this season is Claire.

Overall, still gonna be sticking to see what Season 2 has to offer. I just hope there's not another "Save the cheerleader, Save the world" buildup and later on, a snoozefest letdown. Let's hope the producers don't map out their season route like Prison Break (which I grew tired during the second half of Season 2). Cause I believe Heroes has great potential.

Grey's Anatomy Season 4

Well, it's been almost a month since my four current fav series aired. Here's my take on how the new seasons are faring so far...

1. Grey's Anatomy Season 4

So far, the new season looks promising. In my opinion, season 3 was all over the place and lost much of what made me watch Grey's Anatomy in the first place. The only episode I truly enjoyed last season was the finale which tied up alot of loose ends (I still believe Sandra Oh was SERIOUSLY robbed of her Emmy - just look at the her "breakdown" scene). Moving onto the new season, pretty much looks like Grey's is back on track, reminds me alot of the old Grey's before the drama and soap opera storylines took place. Bailey "Nazi" is BACK!!! after her character really mellowed last season. Christina "Tough Cookie" is also back to her old ways of climbing the surgery ladder. However, the storyline that irks me is George & Izzie...cmon, have you seen a tv couple with less chemistry. Get rid of their storyline! Plus, Callie is getting more screen time instead of hovering around as George's wife and the doctor they call to fix bones.

Things to change: The love triangle of George, Izzie & Callie. Give Alex Karev a STORY!. Meredith and Derek's constant on-off relationship. More scenes for Callie.

Breathe In, Breathe Out

Thanks to Grey's Anatomy, the music of Mat Kearney pretty much reaches the ears of those who watches the series. I'm a big fan of mainstream and popular music but sometimes, indie and lesser-known music just does it for me. Series like Grey's Anatomy really helps give exposure to incredible artists who don't have big record labels marketing them.

Anyways, back to Mat Kearney...this guy is just hugely talented and produces fantastic music. His album, Nothing Left to Lose is one of my fav albums of 2006 (and perhaps, listed as one of my all-time). To top it all of, this guy is a Christian. So, if you guys ever need something fresh, not-played on radio, non R&B, and basically, not mainstream, please checkout the music of Mat Kearney.

I know it's a little outdated (cars barely have cassette players these days), but those were the days where I made mixtapes and record songs off radio. Slew of Bday Celebrations....

Yesterday, was swamped with birthday celebrations. Not only was it my aunt's bday and cousin's birthday, but it was also Sheryl's birthday. So after the lunch and dinner celebrations with relatives, me and Lina headed over to Alexis Bistro at Jalan Ampang to surprise our beloved "ah ma" with a special cake that was baked the night before by her bf, Wai Seng.

As Wai Seng pretended to answer nature's call (2nd time somemore), me and Lina, Mun Tzin and Mark were waiting outside the Bistro with the two cakes. Then, he escorted us in. Since he made sure her back was facing us, made the surprise all the more surpriser. Then, we brought the cake in and sang Happy Birthday to her. Man, should have seen her look...she was soooooo surprise!!! I was trying to hurry and eat the cake cause it just looked so gooooood.

We moved to a more comfortable setting (with sofas) and enjoyed the cake. Gotta hand it to your dude, the cake was fantastic. Not dry, nicely moist and went well with wine. Only thing missing was strawberries and ice cream. Then, we pretty much catch up on lost time and playing with Mark's new Nikon D200 camera. SLR Cameras are just awesome and they took wonderful shots.

Now, just stuck in the office...feelin so sleepy after coming home late. 9 more hours to goooooo....

50th Celebration of Independence....

During the course of growing up, I gotta admit I was never the 'gung-ho' patriotic Malaysian that waves the Malaysian flag or have it hanged over the house. But somehow as Malaysia celebrates its 50th Independence tomorrow, I can't help but feel a sense of proudness and achievement. For the past week, newspapers have shown photographs of comparisons between then and now and how much our country has achieved over the past 50 years.

Looking back, Malaysia has come a long way from the days of our ancestors who were trying to make ends meet to fulfil just the basic necessities of life. Now, living in a bustling city called Kuala Lumpur, I embraced the hustles and bustles of corporate life to fulfil my needs and desires of life. Those were the days when I remember getting my first Siemens handphone, reasonably sized, good features (at that time), nice screen and good for making calls. In contrast today, I'm using a Nokia N73, hugeeee colour screen, mp3 and video player, MMS, Internet....etc. How the times have changed.

No country is perfect and even with Malaysia, she has its shortcomings. But, there's so much to be thankful for. God has tremendously blessed Malaysia, given me a wonderful job, friends and family and of course, endless, bountiful food that assures me I will never go hungry. So, as I celebrate Malaysia's 50th Independence tomorrow, I might not wave flags or have them pasted on my car, but I am proud to say that I am Malaysia's child and Malaysia is my wonderful and beautiful country.

Yoo-hoo...is anyone out there??? I've been MIA from this blog that I seriously forgot about it. Work has been really hectic. The busyness of corporate life has been eating much of my time. Never thought I would fall into a category of bloggers who update their blog once every six months. Inspite of my previous post which indicated that I will update more often, guess I failed miserably. Not much inspiration to write for the past few months.

Alot of things have been running in my mind lately (career change, spiritual growth, youth ministry, marriage...etc). I guess that last word will definitely sparked some interesting feedback. I think it's the time of the season. Words like 'marriage', 'proposal' have been thrown around like crazyyyyy. Friends have been getting engaged ALOT! Usually, this is when people start asking you the inevitable question 'So, when is your time?'. If you need to know more, can always ask me.....hahahahhaa.

On the other hand, I feel this compulsive need to update my Mac portfolio. The new iMac just looks amazing...fantastic...lost for words. I'm such a sucker for Apple stuff (as most of my friends and even boss can affirm that fact). I reckon Steve Jobs should give me some benefits for promoting Apple so often. If you are indeed reading this Steve Jobs, a nice MacBook or iPhone would look nice to my iPod.

Summer movies have been a real letdown lately. So was really excited and refreshed to watch Ratatouille last weekend. Seriously, awesome show, good story and ranks as for me, one of the best Pixar show (after Nemo and Incredibles). The short movie at the beginning is my fav so far too. Pixar and Apple...you guys can do no wrong. :)

Well, it's back to the woodwork for me. Loooong day ahead......

P/S: I should have went for Gwen Stefani concert...instead, just gonna stick to the DVD. Ah well...Beyonce is coming to town!!!

It's been quite awhile since I last updated this blog. Life has really been hectic, with work and church activities. I admired those people who can somehow balanced their life with family, career and church commitments. I don't seem to be doing well in that department...guess I need to learn better. On the other hand, working with the Youth Ministry has really brought out that youthful spark in me and it's really good to see where the direction is heading. I will try to update this blog as much as I can....and congrats to my favourite soccer team, MANCHESTER UNITED!!! U guys might not have gotten the treble...but you at least manage to secure one trophy this season!!!
Spidey 3 was a good show too!!! Although I would have prefer less villians and more concentration on character development.

Hong Kong Trip Pictures Day 1

Been really busy at work these days that I barely have time to upload pictures. So I decided to just do a collage summary of Day 1 from the awesome Hong Kong trip. The hotel shuttle coach had to dropped us at the nearest stop to our hotel due to some road closures from the CNY celebrations. Walked about 5 mins to the Renaissance and checked into the amazing rooms that Dad got us. Dad & Mum got the business executive suite whilst me and Sis got the junior suite. Personally I prefer our rooms since we got a lounge, two TV's and a fantastic bathroom (toiletries was courtesy of Neutrogena...woah). For dinner, we had the ever-famous Wan Tan Mee at a nearby restaurant since practically everything was close for the night. Wrap-up of Day 1.

On this day, it's been exactly a year since I left my second home. Sometimes it feels as if I never really left since I still keep in touch with my close friends from Perth. Feelin all nostalgic today too. It's been a tremendous experience while I was there, never gonna forget it. Thanks for the experience and friendships, you guys know who you are. Currently in the Starbucks KLIA, seeping my ice-blended mocha and munchin on my chocolate chip cinammon roll. Gonna be leaving to Hong Kong in 20 minutes time!!! Woo-hoo!!! I know this might come as a shock but I actually did pack extremely light this time around. The smallest bag in my family. But of course, pack light...come back heavy! Will be away to Hong Kong for a week...See you guys next week!

4th and Last Day (Luff you luff you long time)

Well, it was the last day of the trip. Visited Ning & Glenna's church for a short while (probably the shortest service we ever went...hahahhaha) and met up with our fellow Perth friend, Esther as well. Took a MRT to the Novena stop where we were gonna board the bus back. Had lunch at Burger King to utilize the vouchers (Asian kiasu style!). Bid our Adios, farewells, and goodbyes to Ning, David, Glenna, Esther & Alvin. Was really sad actually cause it brought back memories of the airport incident in Perth (those who were there will remember). But at the same time, it was a terrific holiday, probably one of the best I've ever been. Me & Li-Na really needed this holiday, away from everything else. Lastly, many many thanks to Glenna & Ning for putting us up. We both really appreciate it tremendously, made the trip even more fun than it already was. It was great meeting up with three of you (if only you could join us Pat...haih). Eventhough we left Perth almost a year, it seriously didn't feel as though we left at all to begin with. No doubt we had rainy weather most of the days, we had you guys as company. So, that was a blessing. The trip was an eye-opener for us on different levels. Me & Li-Na are seriously gonna miss you guys heaps...Till our next trip in Bali, Phuket, or any non-city vacation (hahahahah).

3rd Day Pictures Part 2

After the whole 'seeing animals' tour (Zoo + Night Safari), we decided to fill our stomachs with MAMAK!!! (nearby Ning & Glenna's place). Ate, ate and ate like crazy till we could barely walk back. Couple of us ordered this drink called Milo Earthquake (can't be found in KL), and it has heaps of mountainous Milo powder on it (as you can see from the pictures). Highly not recommended for people who can't savour sweet stuff. Great day at the zoo just looking at God's wonderful creations inspite of them being in unnatural habitats. It really was truly amazing.

3rd Day

Let's all go to the zoo!!! Where the animals roam free and wild...(quite delusional of me right). Anyways, Sat...thank you Lord for blessing us with wonderful weather. Zoo Day + Wonderful Weather + one of the best zoos' in the world = FUN TIME!!!!!!!! Overall, we spent like 10 hours plus in the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari. I am in no way endorsed by Singapore Zoo and the photos taken are not photoshopped in any way. They do actually look that nice.

Note: Don't people understand that when they say NOOOO FLAAASH!!!, it means no flash whatsoever whether photography or video. Idiots.....

Second Day

Well Day 2 started very in an interesting way. Initially, we were planning to wake up by 9 am and leave by about 10. I think we were all being too optimistic. Instead, we only left at 11 something, delayed by almost two hours actually. It was still raining but not too heavy. So, we decided to try our luck and head to the zoo. Took a MRT to Ang Mo Kio and hailed a cab to take us there. During our taxi journey there, the rain became heavier. When we arrived there, it was already pouring cats and dogs. There was nothing much we could do except wait and hope that the rain will stop. Had KFC for our lunch and order shrooms burger (possibly the world's smallest burger I've ever seen)!!! Was shocked and shocked (as Simon Cowell would say "awful, just awful. Ghastly"). Desperately wanted to go Ben & Jerry's for ice-cream but they were having renovation. In the end, we decided to push our zoo trip to some other day (the rain just won't stop), still...we manage to catch a peacock.

We headed to Suntec City just to chill out and go indoors cause of the heavy rain. Took a bus to the nearest MRT station and stopped at Raffles. Did some minor shopping at Suntec City. Me, Ning & David got ourselves a ring, Lina got two pairs of Charles & Keith shoes. Since they don't have Ben & Jerry's back here in Malaysia, so definitely had to stopped by over there. We order this huge ice-cream (6 scoops, tons of yummy toppings). Then, we took a walk around Suntec City, checking out the world's largest fountain, probably saw the fattest koi fish ever at this (who was so fat, its stomach was touching the floor). Had dinner at Thai Express (yum! yum!) & took a walk to Esplanade (durian theatre, or resembles something else that Ning mentioned...hahahaha). There were art pieces along our walkway to the theatre. So, seeing how we are all posers...well, pictures tell a thousand words. Did major walking, from the Esplanade theatre to the Merlion statue and at the end, to Clark Quay (where we manage to see the Ice-Bar). Major walking day...good exercise...another tiring but good day.

Singapore Trip [Jan 11-14th]

First Day

Whilst Glenna & Ning bunked over at my aunt's place, David stayed over at my place. Considering we only came back at 2 am after a long mamak session with Jane & Andy, we only had like 3 hours of rest before getting ready again. The coach was departing from their main office Bangsar, convienently located near my dad's office. We all were looking like zombies from the obvious lack of rest. Had breakfast at a mamak stall nearby (2 mamak sessions in less than 12 hours). We left at 730 am sharp (quite on time). I was quite amazed at how spacious and comfortable the seats in the coach was. Highly recommended. Only RM100 for a return ticket!!! Lookout for First Coach! P/S: Thanks Dad for dropping us there and the breakfast as well!!! Initially we were thinking of entertaining ourselves during the journey. But, alas...all of us decided it was better to visit dreamland instead. Hahahaha.

As we arrived in Singapore, we were greeted with wet showers. The coach stopped us at Novena Square and we took a MRT to stopped at Eunos Station. Lina, me & Glenna took a taxi to her place at Joo Chiat. Getting all our luggage into the boot under the heavy rain + groucy taxi driver didn't exactly make the situation any easier. Took us about 10-15 mins to get to the Tan's place. Ning & David actually arrived faster as they walked from the Kembangan MRT stop. We dropped our things and headed to Vivocity (Singapore's newest shopping centre). Rain was still as heavy and we met up with Alvin as well who joined us for dinner. We ate at this food court which had a concept that mirrors itself after the old Singapore eateries. After that, we explored more of Vivocity's artsy stuff and exhibitions. Pretty cool I must say.

Then, 5 of us decided to watch a movie at Golden Village (Singapore's largest cinema, 3 floors). The only movie whereby all of us could agreed on was the Queen. The movie was okie, great acting, interesting take on how the Royal family handled the death of Princess Diana. Still, gotta give kudos to David. The only one of us who didn't sleep at least once during the movie. A certain someone slept almost the whole duration of the movie. Hahahaha...When the show ended, it was almost 12 am and that's the time the last MRT departs. We were rushing and running endlessly to catch the last train. Exhilarating and yet exhausting. The trains was practically empty, but thank goodness we manage to catch it in time. Overall, a very tiring tiring, long day that was fun as well.

Pre-Singapore Trip [Jan 8-10th 2007]

Pre-Singapore

Glenna, Ning & David decided to pay Malaysia a visit. This was David's first time in Malaysia. So, me and Lina decided to give him some cultural exposure in terms of food and night life. Gotta give props to David as Malaysian food really is different than Perth food. We salute you mate for your adventurous spirit. On their last night in Malaysia, (big thanx to Lina's dad), we head down to Kuala Selangor to catch fireflies and have dinner. It was a first time experience for most of us (me included). There were lots of 'hotspots' and a Firefly Club as well (hahahahha, something only me, Lina & Glenna will understand). Something interesting happened to Ning as well which I'll leave it to her to share (gotta admit, it was cool though). Then, we met up with Jane & Andy for last mamak session in Malaysia. Emotional farewell but thanks guys for coming to Malaysia!!! And as usual, when you have everyone in the table who are 'posers', how can we not have this kind of shots???

Resolutions...

Usually, I would never bother listing down my resolutions. But, this year...decided to list down a couple of resolutions I really wanna fulfill by end of this year.

1. Spend less, save more!!!
2. Hit the gym more and lose weight!!!
3. Reach my target of earning $$$$ per month.
4. Spending more time with loved ones.

Hopefully, when I look back at this post end of the year, I would have crossed out all of them. If not, 3 out of 4 of them.

New Year. New Beginnings. New Chapter.

The new year is finally here. Had a wonderful New Year's Eve celebration with some close friends. Instead of the usual crowded, barely-can-move celebration at some 'happening' place, I ringed in the New Year at Deej's house with a small company. It was a good time of catching up, reflecting on high school and also looking forward to new chapters in our life. In view of my current reflection phase, here are some highlights, moments I want to remember of the past year, 2006.

Moments of 2006

- Got a chance to celebrate New Year & CNY in Australia with some close dear friends to my heart

- Spend the entire summer in Perth for the first time since I went there to further my studies

- Worked as a telemarketer in GPRA with Li-Na & Glenna

- Being able to finally call myself a graduate in front of family & friends

- Had a fun graduation ‘holiday’ with my family

- Graduated with 4 other close friends (1 gf, 2 girls and one crazy housemate) in Feb

- Emotional farewell when I had to say goodbye to my second home in March

- Shed tears of joy and sadness (liked never before I might add)

- Feeling lost as I stepped back to the place where I grew up (the changes in roads was astonishing)

- Got my first job as a Marketing Executive in Techrentals and learning lots

- Navigated around KL roads with surprisingly, a map and quite effectively as well

- Got my first pay cheque and celebrated with loved ones.

- Enjoying the food and rounds of mamak as life was back to normal again

- Celebrated a very significant and poignant 1 year with my gf and of course, looking forward to more yearly celebrations

- Finally meeting up with one of my heng tai’s, Kenneth after not seeing him for 2 years and had a wonderful time catchin up and hanging out as well.

- Also met up with Grace Choo after not seeing her for almost 4 years since the good ol’ CPU days. It was fun to keep in touch.

- Started my second job in Action International on August 1^st, 2006 and have not looked back ever since. Learning heapsssssss and excited for future plans.

- Became more active in church…serving as BS leader for the youths and worship coordinator in CCF.

- Bid farewell to Kenneth (gonna miss you lots bro) as he went back to US and Grace Choo (much hasn’t change hey….hahahaha) as she went back to Canada

- Experienced a very special moment and will never forget it

- Blowing many holes in my pocket from office clothes shopping, getting a new camera, a new handphone and computer upgrades.

- Adopted a child through WorldVision

- Had a paintball blast with some friends and suffered bodyaches the following day

- Road-trip with Li-Na, Algene, Jess & Thomas in a very comfortable and nice-to-drive MyVi to PD

- Met up with some old friends whom I haven’t seen in years and gaining new friends

- Enduring the loooooong haze period and got slightly sick from it

- Another one of my heng tai’s, Chou came back from NZ. More DOTA, more late nite yamcha sessions…

- Got confirmed into my job and seeing a pay rise as well!!!

- Nathan & Chew Sia engaged!!!

- Having a reunion with high school & CPU mates!!! It was a blast!!!

- Annual Company Dinner & Client Nite at Sime Darby Convention Centre

- Got baptized on Dec 17^th!!!! It was awesome….thanx to everyone who was there in sharing this really special moment!

- Had the honour and privilege to have Christmas Eve party with the New Hope people. It was an eye opener and an amazing experience.

- Celebrated New Year’s Eve with the special people in my life. Bring on 2007!!!

Guess what???!!! I'm officially BAPTISED, or as my cousin puts in, I was swimming in the pool. It was a special ceremony and an amazing declaration of faith in front of people. Thanks to everyone who came and witnessed the occasion, you guys really did made the day extra special and an added blessing for me. I was really touched by your congrats messages and presence as well even by those who were not there. Just seeing all your faces there before I was immersed truly brought a tear to me eye. Even as this is just the beginning of my walk, I know that I have your support and love. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!!! Last but not least, THANK YOU LORD!!!!

Quick update...as I forgot to post this up earlier on. Two good news just to update!

News 1 - I got officially confirmed into my position and as a result, more benefits and increase in salary. Just in time for year-end sale happening...grinz! Muahahahaha!

News 2 - I'll be gettin baptized on Dec 17th, this coming Sunday@845 am in FBC Subang. As Thomas put it, I'll be getting drowned. So, to all my friends, you are more than welcome too come for this special event. Unfortunately, I can't broadcast it through webcam but my dad will be video-taping the ceremony and posting it on YouTube...hahahahaha. (This one's for you Pat!)

Of Stress, Reunions & Dinner Nite

Had a very stressful, long, tiring and yet challenging week before. It was probably the busiest week so far I've had this year. Managing to get through that week really opened my eyes to one thing; doing all of this would not have been possible by my own strength. Instead, I had the Lord Almighty to sustain and provide me the strength to endure a week that had many hiccups, sentiments of annoyance and frustration and yet, one that filled with friends, comfort and support. Thank You Lord indeed for Your providence. I could not ask for more.

Probably the two events I was looking forward too last week was reunion with some college mates. It was a great moment of catching up and just updating on our lives, meeting up with people I haven't seen for quite some time. The other event was probably my company dinner cum client awards nite on Saturday. Besides it being a company dinner, it was also a night to honour some of our clients who have achieved tremendous results during the past year. Eventhough there were hiccups, it still went on smoothly. Plus, it was good to meet up with some of my colleagues from other branches. I sorta became the official photographer of the night. Taking pics for clients as well (Don't this people bring their own camera at an event like this?) Highlight of the night was when some of the business coaches did the chicken dance onstage and Ian Homer (from UK) doing his best uncanny impersonation of a 'China-businessman'. That skit alone was worth the ticket for the event (unless you're with the company). Some of the pics of the night.

Down with Casino Royale & Prestige. Few more left to go. Manage to catch the latest Bond flick on Saturday. It wasn't a complete letdown, was surprisingly good and back to basics. The beginning scene of Casino Royale is a must-watch, stunts were awesome, camera-work was spot-on. Still, Daniel Craig has more of the rugged, rough spy look than Pierce Brosnan's suave, cool look. Not a bad Bond flick (though not the best too) considering all the beating he's taking in since he got the job. Can't wait for the next installment.

The music director at Grey's Anatomy deserves a high pay rise. This show just brings out all the good non-mainstream, indie music that is so refreshing as compared to the stuff you hear on radio. Yet, the music blends in well with each scene from the series. Thanx to the show, I've been exposed to great stuff from Snow Patrol, Mat Kearney and from the latest episode, Damien Rice. Whoever you are, kudos for doing such a great job on the music direction!!! Continue the exposure!!!

Lastly, all the best to Li-Na for her business trip to the rich man's land, Dubai. Enjoy yourself and have a great event! Missing you here :)

Just gonna send a special shoutout to one of my dearest friends, Pat. Happy Bday you OLD MAN!!! Hahahahaha....I will never forget what happened at the supposed surprise bday plan we had for you last year. Excruciatingly painful hey, but definitely memorable. As well, thanx for being such a wonderful friend, housemate, confidante and brother-in-Christ. The moments in the Alday household are definitely memories I'll cherish in years to come, both good and bad. Life in Perth has been such a breeze thanks to friends like you who make it my second home, not forgetting our crazy moments. I know there's a common misconception that I don't have much to do at work and there's even time for me to MSN, or watch YouTube videos. Let me just clear that off by sayin that, eventhough I do all of the above, I honestly have tons of work to do. Doing those things actually keep me destressed and sane from the sheer amount of work on my table. I actually have 'serious' work to keep myself occupied.

Some Hearts & Confessions on a Dancefloor

Today marks the one year release of two albums I thoroughly enjoyed over the past year. One was from a fresh, young budding star out to prove herself while the other was a long-time veteran, a chameleon out to reclaim her Pop throne. Both artiste are talented in their own ways and even till now, their albums are heavy rotation on my iPod. Lets review both albums.

1. Madonna - Confessions on a Dancefloor

Of course I shall start with the Queen of Pop herself. My fav artist of all time due to the sheer brilliance of her art and u gotta admit, not many people can have that consistency as she does even after 20 over years in the business. For this album, the lady herself decided to get back to her roots, dance pop. After the disappointment of American Life, she definitely bounce back with gem. First single, Hung Up is an infectious tune that just refuses to leave your head. I'd probably not heard such an addictive tune in a loooong time. From this point on, the whole album is one mix dance track, nicely played when you hear it one shot (thanks to gapless playback on iTunes 7). Every song here is one bouncing dance number after another...tapping into inner dance moves where no one is watching. No doubt not everyone would buy into her new album, but credit has to be given to a 48-year old woman who still manages to give artists half her age a run for their money.

2. Carrie Underwood - Some Hearts

I was heavily anticipating this album as well after watching American Idol season 4 and seeing Carrie win. Was supporting her the whole way through and of course, till the day she was crowned the winner. She's my fav idol contestant second only to Kelly Clarkson. I always believe that the post-idol album will determine whether you make or break it. So, was really shocked when Carrie's album came out, cos never expected it to be this good. This girl has got the vocal chops as she sings her lungs out through each song. From the moment she came out, I knew her strength lied in country. I admit, was never really into country except maybe, pop-country. This is one heck of a good country album and with singles that never seem so country-cliche. Now, I'm looking forward too her post-idol album. Will she able to live up to Kelly Clarkson? Only time will tell....

The One with the Shampoo on the Hair...

Me & Li-Na decided to checkout this new joint called Tony Roma's in Pyramid. Apparently they serve the best ribs in town. The place somehow reminds me of Chili's (one of my fav joints), but looks slightly more posh but the prices of the food was about the same. Like Chili's, servings were huge and being the inquisitive hungry people we are, we over ordered and ended up having to ask the waiter to pack the unfinished food. I gotta admit, the ribs were delicious, tender and succulent (yuuummm!). The BBBIIIGG starters that we ordered was too much to handle though and a little on the saltier side. Here are some pics of the food that we ordered.

After dinner, we went and watched Flushed Away. Initially, the plan was to watch The Departed but the timing was kinda late. Flushed Away was not too bad...a no-brainer movie, the one you usually wanna watch to destress after a long day at work.

Okie...I gotta share about this really hilarious incident. On Thursday, as I was walking to my car after work, this Kancil was blocking my way to get out. So I horned for a couple of times and then suddenly, emerging out of the hair saloon, was the owner of the car. Guess what??!!! She came out with her hair bundled up still in shampoo and the towel around her shoulders. Hahahahaha!!!! I was tryin to contain myself from not laughing too much...but failed efforts. I think she somehow saw me laughing at her. Better still...my colleague said I should have taken a picture of her and sent to the Star, get 50 bucks for it! Man...you should have seen it to believe it. Highlight of the week!

I think I need to jump like 100 times a day after Sat morning's trekking in Gasing Hill. Made me realized how terribly unfit I am ler...need desperately to get back to shape by end of the year. Anyways, this is how it went. I parked my car at Kevin's place (the entourage was me, Li-Na, Jess, Thomas, Mavis & Kevin), and we made our way up the hills. Utterly amazed at how much greenery was left in PJ. Never knew there was still so many trees. When we reached the peak, besides the panting and how bad my stamina was, I almost puked (Lesson learnt: Never push yourself too hard, and then 100% stop). Reminded me of the time when I did an intense gym workout with the trainer and puked when I went home. Well, lets just say after the trekking session, went to Mamak and gained back all the weight we loss.
Mamak + rarely exercising = ever growing and expandind waistlineeee.....not good!

After the breakfast session, we took a walk along the streets where Kevin grew up. Visited La Salle boys school and came across this very interesting signboard. Man...schools would do anything these days to try and keep students in.

Went home after that and took a short nap + catchin up on my series.

Sat nite, me, Li-Na and the rest of CM were helping out at an event (Doug McClure & friends) at First Baptist Church. Whilst Li-Na was doing filming, I was doing photography with a $12, 000 DSLR Nikon camera ($6000 for the camera, $6000 for the lens). Man oh man, DSLR cameras make every shot look good, more pics to come later on. It was a fantastic nite, an absolute pleasure to be able to hear Doug McClure play amazingly with his cello. That guy's fingers and how he handles the instrument is pure mastery. He even played for Pope John Paul II and met him in person.

What I need to do now is to keep healthy, and reduce expansion of waistline. Not all bigger things are good for you.

Unbelievable!!!

Beautiful skies...can finally see the clouds after how looong of enduring smogs!!!

No traffic...so wonderful to drive! I wish it could be like this every other day.

Really did enjoyed the long holiday due to Deeparaya (Deepavali + Hari Raya) festive season. Once u start working, public holidays are something you really appreciate. Let me sum up some of what happened during the long break. Went to watch the Prestige and visit the new Gap store in 1Utama over the weekend. The Prestige was surprisingly good, lived up to the anticipation from the trailer. Lots of twists and turns, typical Christopher Nolan show actually. Highly recommended. After that, went to see the new Gap store and being the usual sucker I am, bought myself a new Gap shirt. Low self-control when it comes to branded stuff. Went to Italiannies for food as well...their food is simply mouth-watering, me and Lina almost couldn't finish, too much actually. I recommend the salad! Huge and yummy!

Then on Monday, went to the Curve and had some quality time with my dad. Somehow along the way, we detoured to Low Yat and traffic was slightly heavy although not as bad as a normal working day. Didn't had any intention to buy anything, and two things caught my eye.

Ended up getting the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX50. U see...this is what happens when you visit Low Yat! U tend to leave with something on your hand and cash out of the pocket. To think, I wasn't gonna buy something. Anyways, the new camera is awesome!!! The screen is simply huuuugge! My new 'baby' is one fine piece of technology. Will post more pics taken from my new camera later.

Then on Tuesday,had some fellowship time with church members. We had lunch and board games session. Considering some initial hiccups, I did find it enjoyable and if only we had more time, could play more games. Till the next session then.

Had a rather interesting Wednesday nite but more from that later on....For now, lets welcome the new addition to my gadget family...Ms Lumix.

Man oh man...getting people to attend workshops is seriously hard! Can be tiring, stressful and "pressure-cooker" sometimes. Slow slow month. Am I doing enough??? Am I doing something wrong??? Just wondering....

On a completely different note, I just watched the season 3 premier of Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives. Awesome stuff....as usual, Grey's Anatomy had good storyline, emotional scenes and important decisions to be made. Looks set to be another good season for the medical staff. Desperate Housewives on the other hand, was surprisingly quite good and entertaining as well. (I kinda lost hope on the show considering how awful season 2 was) More mysteries, scandals and outrageous antics as well. Gonna be another interesting season for the housewives as well.

A thought came across my mind this week. So many things to be thankful for in my life, inspite of the good and bad situations occuring. Eventhough I know I will never be able to list all the things I'm thankful for, here are some at the top of my head. Thankful for:

1. God, my Saviour and Redeemer. Thank You, Lord.

2. My parents, who have blessed and provided me tremendously. Their sacrifices, love and support which I would never forget.

3. My sister, I know we had our differences but thank you for the cares and love as well. I wouldn't wish for any other big sister.

4. My grandmother, for taking care of me even before I took my first steps into the world and continuously ensuring that I always have food and never suffer from malnutrition till today.

5. My relatives, for being there, taking care of me as well and watching over me as I grow up.

6. My four 'heng-tais', keeping me grounded and being my pillars of strength through the good and bad times. You dudes rawk!!!

7. My best best friend and also wonderful gf, thanx for being there for me, loving me inspite of my flaws and embarking on this journey of life with me. You're someone amazing and I will always cherish you.

Just got this shocking news of the net...Steve Irwin (the crocodile hunter guy) passed away in a freak accident. A ~~jellyfish~~ stingray (thanx Chin Wee for the correction) stung him in the chest and it went straight to his heart. Ouucch! Unexpected, bet his family is gonna miss him terribly. I remember seeing his family on the Oprah interview (hey, I was terribly bored and so happen, Oprah was on air that time, hahahahah). His daughter is really cute and she brought her pet snake along, she was only 4 that time i think. Considering most of us have cats, dogs or hamsters as pets, and she has a snake...awesomely cool. I'm sure the Aussie folks are gonna miss you, Steve Irwin.

Here is the new season 3 promo of Desperate Housewives...gotta admit, they look good for their age (except Eva Longoria who is the youngest). Can't wait for the season premiers of Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, CSI, How I Met Your Mother, Everybody Hates Chris. Man...I gotta cut down on TV.

The weekend is here!!! Just gonna relax and chill out, though might head out for drinks with the guys later. Well, on Merdeka eve night, went to Cineleisure to watch My Super Ex-Girlfriend (courtesy of MixFM) with Lina, Sheryl and Wai Seng. Was really excited to watch the movie since the trailer looks promising but more so, wanted to know whether I won the GRRRAAANNND prize! of 1500!!! Haihhh...when they announce the winner, unfortunately it wasn't me. Was already prepared with my inspirational speech. U wanna know why she won? Her answer was that she would want the superpower of mind control so she could make her ex-bf propose to this big tree right smack in the middle of town on a busy day. Interesting or not??? Hmmm....Btw, my answer was..........................................................hahahahahha, gotta ask me personally if interested. Something funny occured too when the movie was showing. As the opening credits were rolling, the music was quite sombre and Demi Moore's name appeared on the screen. I was like....Demi Moore???!!!. Isn't Uma Thurman suppose to be in the show??? Could be a hoax?? Hahahahah...they actually put in the wrong film, about 5 minutes later the actual movie started. Comedic music playing and Uma Thurman's name came on. Now, its the right movie.Another highlight of the night was the countdown and the fact that people actually stopped their cars along LDP highway to witness the fireworks!!! Increedibleeee!!! To be honest, National Day was nothing more than a public holiday for me. A day to either rest or go out and hang around. Now that I'm working...I'm even more looking forward to it since it's a public holiday (Unfortunately, next day gotta go and work since it's a Friday). I gotta admit I've never been those patriotic kind that displays the flag on their car or flies it round their house. It's like what Alan Yun's character said in Gubra 'It's like being in love with someone that doesn't love you'. I must say, my patriotism was slightly enhanced when I went over to Australia to study. Must have been the fact that I'm out of the country and there's this feeling to somehow defend it. Now that I'm back, hahahaha...the feeling has somehow lessen already. But just thinking of it, I do have this sense of proudness and a hint of patriotism when I see people displaying their Malaysian flag or when the wind blows and you see the flag flying majestically. It's all a funny feeling and of course, there are some things I wish I could change of Malaysia (rude drivers, terrible jams, horrible education system...etc). Still, Malaysia has been good to me and a blessing as well...I'm thankful that I don't worry about whether there's gonna be a bomb dropping over my rooftop every now and then). So, thank You Lord for blessing Malaysia tremendously. We definitely have come a long way and I hope we still continue to grow and be a better nation.

One of them I've known for 11 Years, Another one I've known for 9 Years...Unbelievable how time has passed by. Feels as if it was just yesterday that the geeky kid with round glasses was playing tag in primary school. Or that dude with the funny looking, cringe-inducing side parting hair was 'starcrafting' with his buddies. Somehow, feels like I've just snapped my fingers and those moments passed me by. Anyways, enough about the dramatic flashbacks. One of my four 'heng-tais' just left for US today. It's been awesome just catching up and hanging out with him for the past 3 months considering we haven't seen each other for 2 years. Thanx Bro for being such an amazing and supportive friend through the good and bad times. Gonna miss you dude but at the same time, just wanna wish you all the best with your future endeavors in US. I'll still be waiting for my dinner treat on your first pay cheque, hahahaha. Take care and just know that one of your bros is back here in Malaysia as well.

Was searching for places to eat in Malaysia and I came across this very interesting article...

Whoever said that tap water in Malaysia is safe and consumable must be out of their mind!!! Have u actually seen the quality of water in Msia??? Tried changing the water filter and after 10 seconds, you get instant teh tarik!!! Don't even need to go mamak or expect the guy to do his 'pulling tea' trick, you can get it right at your home for free.

Manic Monday

Currently experience terrible dosage of Monday blueesss. Thank goodness for MixFM playing nice mix of songs, both old and new. It's nice to hear some old stuff which you haven't heard in ages. (Tears in Heaven, More than Words, Ironic, Manic Monday...the list goes on). Even nicer when they play songs which you heard during a significant moment in your life.
Had a great weekend, bought myself a new nice pair of shoes from Hush Puppies. Went to watch Click as well which I thoroughly enjoyed. Probably my fav Adam Sandler movie...I've never been a big fan of his movies. But Click I gotta admit is pretty good plus with Kate Beckinsale in it, how else could you go wrong? There were very good lessons learned too from the movie. I forgot to blog this but I watched all the six movies in my list. Pirates of the Carribbean 2 was good although it didn't impress me as much as the first. Johnny Depp was outstanding as usual and the whole island part was definitely my fav scene. Keira Knightley was not too bad either, looks good in a corset. Hahahaha....Lady in the Water was disappointing and a horrible movie I felt. Expected more from M Night Shymalan, but what can u expect from someone who directed the brilliant Sixth Sense to the lacklustre Village?

The tolls of work sometimes does this things to you......

Just another update, I've recently started a new job at Action International (www.action-international.com). Position is Sales and Marketing Executive. My previous job wasn't challenging enough for me and not really a place where I can see myself growing and improving. Somehow, I felt my new job would provide me what I was looking for. Hahahaha...I was quite spot-on as my first week was terribly hectic! Had to help-out with an international expo at PWTC and learn to co-ordinate my company's Action Profit Club meeting for business owners. It's kinda an exclusive club for business owners only, so it was pretty cool to be given the opportunity to attend. Lots more to do and lots of area I can grow and improve as an individual. Thank God for blessing me with this job even in such a short span of time. However, my first week would have been much better enjoyed if I wasn't down with the triple combo (flu, fever, sorethroat). On an interesting note, this is an Australian company as well. So, that makes it two Aussie companies I've already worked for. Interesting....

As of now, I decided to name all my future title post after songs which I'm currently listening too/hooked on. Just think it's something cool that's all. Had a hectic weekend...Saturday = Settler's Cafe with Li-Na, Jane, Andy & Arthur (who came to visit from Perth). Awesome, awesome, awesome time!!! Can't wait to head back there again! Sunday, went to Doulos (the ship) with some church friends. Can't believe that Doulos is only 2 years younger than the Titanic! Incredibly aging ship...and yet, she still looks not a day over 50. The years of plastic surgery has certainly paid off (new face, botox in getting rid of the rust...etc). Besides being such an old ship, it also houses a large collection of books for sale. The world's largest floating bookstore...pretty cool hey. Thank goodness, we decided to leave early. The queue when we got there was already quite long. Plus, when you mix that with the exruciating heat that Malaysia is suffering these days...a 1 hour wait becomes like 5 hours!!!

We all got a special VIP tour around the ship, hard to believe that 350 people stay onboard and some of them have been with the ship for almost 10 years! Doubt I can put up that long in the ship. Although they do have like a 2 months thing going on, which sounds quite interesting. It was a good experience although I didn't manage to buy any books. The heat was seriously off-putting and so was the crowd. Anyways, can't wait to watch Pirates of the Carribbean 2!!!!!!!! I must be like one of the few people round the world who hasn't watch it yet.
